The PIDbox is a device that increases the efficiency of solar panels and extends their service life. iLumen is proud that the entire production and assembly process of this device takes place in Belgium.
The video below gives you a look behind the scenes of the production process of the PIDbox and its Smart PSU.
Step 1: production of printed circuit boards PIDbox
During this step, ‘solder paste’ is applied to the printed circuit boards via stencils. The electronic components are placed on the blank printed circuit boards through a ‘Pick & Place’-machine. Hereafter, a check of the printed circuit boards takes place.
Step 2: production of printed circuit boards Smart PSU
As with the PIDbox, components are applied to the printed circuit boards that are used for the Smart PSU. In order to assembly the printed circuit boards, the parts that are attached to it are placed in a reflow oven. In this way, the connections between the components and the printed circuit boards are completed. This process is also applied to the PIDbox printed circuit boards (not shown in the video).
Step 3: assembly PIDbox
During the assembly process the printed circuit boards are mounted in the PIDbox, just like the connect cables. The connectors are also attached to the casing. The functionalities of the PIDbox are extensively tested at the end of the assembly process (not shown in the video).
Step 4: assembly Smart PSU
A simalar process takes place for the Smart PSU. The functionalities of the Smart PSU are extensively tested at the end of the assembly process.
Step 5: packing PIDbox & Smart PSU
Finallly, the PIDbox is put together with the Smart PSU in a suitable package, ready to be installed for another happy customer!
