JCI Limburg has just announced the 4 nominees for the JCI Award Limburg Young Entrepreneur of the Year. The battle goes between Ismaël Ben-Al-Lal (iLumen), Charline Leroi (Autoglass Clinic), Wouter Uten (UgenTec) and Amaury Verelst (Verelst & Gilen). On April 29, the successor of Filip Timmermans (Skilpod) will be announced in C-Mine Genk.
We briefly introduce the four final laureates:
Ismaël Ben-Al-Lal is the founder of Futech (2008) and iLumen (2012). Futech is a solar panel installer on the Belgian private and industrial market. In addition to the installation, Ismaël runs an engineering company that develops product innovations to improve the operation of PV installations. The success of its activities is related to various patents on these products.
Charline Leroi comes from an entrepreneurial family. It was clear to her at an early age that she wanted to become her own boss. After her studies, she decided to step into the wonderful world of car windows, a sector in which her father Hugo was one of the pioneers. Autoglass Clinic currently has 23 independent branches across Belgium, which together employ around 120 people. The company is the largest automotive glass repairer that is completely in Belgian (and even Limburg) hands.
Wouter Uten started his career in 2014 with the founding of UgenTec. The company builds software solutions for the automation of DNA analyzes. Their FastFinder product supports laboratories in the entire DNA research workflow. UgenTec has since become an international reference within the diagnostic market. Uten managed to collect 12 million euros in risk capital.
Amaury Verelst is the founder and CEO of Verelst & Gilen, which mainly focuses on the development of residential real estate projects. The company has apartments and houses built in various provinces and has been active in Spain (Ibiza) since 2019. Verelst & Gilen currently has 600 units in portfolio and more than 100 units are delivered annually.
The winner of the JCI Award Limburg Young Entrepreneur of the Year will be announced on October 8 in C-Mine Genk. On November 12 the final of the Flemish Young Entrepreneur of the Year will take place in Leuven.
