Flemish Minister of Energy Tommelein reveals home battery iLubat
During his visit at the Batibouw fair in Brussels, Flemish Minister of Energy Bart Tommelein revealed the iLubat. This home battery storage system, developed by the R&D Department of iLumen, meets the market demand perfectly for the following reasons:
- Significant reduction of the contribution at the Flemish prosumers tax (calculated based on the inverter capacity)
- Contribution to a more stable grid
- Optimal use of PV systems
- Discharging via the inverter of the solar modules
The iLubat will be launched in April 2018.
‘Technological innovators’
“The energy sector is driven by technology and innovation. Solar modules and batteries for example, have become 75% cheaper since 2010 while their efficiency has increased enormously”, says Minister Tommelein. “This evolution will persist during the coming days. In that respect, Flanders will play a leading role in Europe. iLumen is one of the technological innovators in the energy market.”
