PIDbox regenerates degraded solar panel at fast pace during Intersolar Europe

The PIDbox of iLumen increases the yield of solar panels which suffer from efficiency losses due to Potential Induced Degradation. In combination with PIDcoating, the regeneration process is significantly accelerated. During a live test at Intersolar Europe in Munich, iLumen regenerated a degraded solar panel at very fast pace.

In order to perform the test, a PIDbox was installed. Then PIDcoating was applied.

To visualize the results of the test, a currrent and voltage were applied to the solar panel. This heated up the active cells of the panel. The warmer a particular cell, the more active this cell. Cells with a lower temperature indicate inactivity and consequently efficiency losses.

The image below shows the degraded solar panel before the start of the live test. As you can see, the temperature of the different cells is low, indicating inactivity and yield losses.

A good 48 hours later, all inactive cells became active again. Thanks to the installation of the PIDbox and the application of PIDcoating, the degraded solar panel was regenerated in no time.
